ISTEAN YOUNG
COLUMBIA-Funeral service for Miss Istean Young, 81, of Columbia, will be held 11 o clock Saturday, January 11, 2003, in Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, conducted by The Reverend James Goudelock. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o clock this (FRIDAY) evening in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Eau Claire Baptist Church, 4427 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29203.
Miss Young died Thursday, January 09, 2003. Born in Orangeburg County, she was a daughter of the late James Luther and Julia Corbett Young. She graduated from Columbia College in 1942, and then worked as a school teacher retiring after 39 years of service. Miss Young was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church and the Scripture Gleaners Sunday School Class.
Survivors are: sisters, Hazel Young and Mae Eddins both of Columbia; also a number of nieces and nephews.
